The ARTXV team recently took a trip to see Google London's Accessibility Discovery Centre.

The centre, which is now open for collaboration, is a space where Google engineers, researchers, product teams and partners can build new kinds of accessible technologies to remove more of the barriers that people with disabilities face every day.

We were fortunate enough to receive a tour from Christopher Patnoe, Head of Accessibility and Disability Inclusion EMEA, and Jyothi Reddy Gogireddy, Lead Accessibility Analyst, where we got the chance to see (and try!) a range of accessibility products and technology for different disabilities.

  • two signs saying ADC, one small and one large, both have sensory elements such as ridges and different wooden textures
  • an office desk and chair with a laptop on it. Above a sign says 'hearing' and there is a Google chrome logo sign next to it
  • a desktop computer with digital picture exchange communication system software on it, i.e. squares of different items on the screen
  • a screen showing a boy playing a video game. in front of the desktop screen is a pair of headphones
